WHAT:
¡Viva México! Cinco de Mayo, a vibrant celebration of Mexican heritage and resilience, is just around the corner, and Children’s Museum Houston is thrilled to invite you to join in the festivities! Mark your calendars for a day filled with the sights, sounds, and flavors of Mexico as we commemorate the historic victory at the Battle of Puebla.
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Mariachi Jarabe Tapatío: From soul-stirring ballads to toe-tapping melodies and dressed in their iconic charro suits, the ensemble will regale audiences with lively renditions of traditional Mexican folk music.
Event Time: From 10 am to 2 pm in front of Museum and in Kid’s Hall Alcove.
DIY Pinata Art Workshop: Join us as we craft vibrant pinatas, a beloved symbol of Mexican celebrations.
Event Time: On the half hour from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm in Alexander Art Academy.
Las Americas Ballet Folklórico: From the intricate footwork of Zapateado to the spirited rhythms of Huapangos, this dynamic performance will captivate audiences of all ages.
Event Time: At 11 am and 12:30 pm in Brown Auditorium.

The Essence of Mexico by Mixteco Ballet Folklórico: Embark on a journey to the Northern State of Nuevo Leon through captivating dance performances, including "Zapatea-dos" and "The Polka.”
