Children’s Museum Houston celebrates the moon with lanterns, legends and lion dancers!

Experience the magic of the Mid-Autumn Festival at Children’s Museum Houston! The festival brings together rich cultural traditions with exciting hands-on activities, storytelling, and live performances, highlighting the significance of the celebration and offering a unique opportunity for Houston families to connect with the rich cultural heritage of Vietnamese and Asian cultures that celebrate it.

The Mid-Autumn Festival, also known as the Moon Festival, is a cherished celebration throughout Asia that marks the end of the Autumn harvest, symbolizes unity, and honors the moon.

SPECIAL EVENTS:

Lantern Making: Channel the festival's spirit by crafting colorful lanterns to light up the celebration.

When:  From 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Kid's Hall.

 

Vietnamese Story Time:  Immerse yourself in the legends of the Mid-Autumn Festival with captivating tales for the whole family.

When: At 11 a.m. and 1 p.m. in Parent Resource Library.

 

Soaring Phoenix Lion Dance:  Feel the rhythm and energy as dragon dancers fill the air with joy and celebration. Don’t miss this powerful and mesmerizing performance!

When: At noon and 2 p.m. in Kid's Hall Alcove.
