Camp Adventure! is a free summer camp provided annually to children attending HISD Title One elementary schools. Led by Children’s Museum Houston and Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation in collaboration with HISD, Campers experience hands-on STEM challenges, literacy activities, crafts, and games while making friends and memories to last a lifetime.
This year, Camp Adventure! will join HISD Summer School at two campuses – Atherton and Blackshear. Summer School students on these two campuses will get to participate. Each day, the intensity of morning studies will be rewarded with an afternoon of adventurous and fun learning at Camp! This new design is a pilot to explore expansion in the future.
Produced and directed by Children's Museum Houston for the Barbara Bush Houston Literacy Foundation and the Houston Independent School District, Camp Adventure! provides a full slate of our literacy and STEAM programming, with additional programming related to music, theater, nutrition and literacy.
