HOUSTON (Aug. 21, 2024) – The world of breakdancing is breaking out in Houston, and it’s bringing Olympic energy to Children’s Museum Houston! This September, the Museum invites families to join the excitement of the Break Free Experience, an action-packed series of performances and workshops inspired by breakdancing’s red-hot debut at the Paris 2024 Olympics. In partnership with Break Free Worldwide hip-hop school, this event promises to deliver high-energy fun, creativity, and culture every Sunday.
Here’s your chance to connect with hip-hop royalty! Bboy Moy, who served as a judge at the Paris Olympics, is bringing his world-renowned Break Free crew to Children’s Museum Houston to show off the skills that have taken the world by storm. Bboy Moy, the founder and CEO of Break Free Worldwide and a global breakdancing legend, will have his school’s top talent on hand to inspire and perform.
Bboy Moy has traveled the globe as one of breakdancing’s biggest stars, and now his Break Free crew is bringing that world-class talent to the Museum. Whether you’re popping and locking on the dance floor, mixing tracks like a DJ, or making your mark on our art wall, the Break Free Experience will leave you inspired and energized.

Breakdancing Performances with Bboy Moy's Break Free Crew: Witness Olympic-level breakdancing up close! Break Free hip-hop school’s elite dance crew—trained by none other than Bboy Moy—will light up the stage with jaw-droppingperformances. Get inspired by their gravity-defying moves, then join in and learn from the best in the business.
When: Sundays, Sept. 1, 8, 15, 22, and 29 at 11a.m.and 3 p.m. in Kids’ Hall Alcove.
DJ Workshop: Turntables ready! Explore the art of DJing in this hands-on workshop where you’ll learn to mix, spin, and create music like a pro. Dive into the beats and discover the secrets of crafting the perfect soundtrack for your breakdancing moves.
When: Sundays, Sept. 1, 15, and 29 from 10 a.m. to 2:30p.m. on the Patio.
Art Wall – Express Yourself: Channel your inner artist and contribute to a vibrant community mural on the Museum’s Patio! With graffiti-inspired art and your own personal touch, you’ll help create a collaborative masterpiece that captures the spirit of hip-hop culture.
