Children's Museum Houston hosts exclusive Valentine-themed Sensory Friendly event featuring therapy dogs, story times and more!
Monday, Feb. 12, beginning at 10 a.m.
Gear up for a fantastic escape from the sensory overload, specially designed for children with autism spectrum disorder, sensory processing disorder, and various learning differences, along with their families. Get ready for a private event that transforms the museum into a haven of comfort and enjoyment! Doors will be closed to the public. There will be no music and sound-reducing headphones will be available. Outside food and drinks will be allowed (Fresh Café will be closed).
SPECIAL EVENTS:
Faithful Paws: Experience unconditional love and furry comfort with trained therapy pets.
Event Time: 10 am to noon in Tree Top.
Rising Stars ABA: Learn about Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA)as you interact with sensory activities.
Event Time: 10 am to 1 pm in New Kids' Hall.
Valentine Story Time: Join us for a sweet Valentine reading experience.
Event Times: 11 and 11:30 am and noon in Parent Resource Library.
ONSITE RESOURCES: (FROM 10 AM TO 1 PM)
- The DIAG: Provides guidance and resources for families with children who have special needs.
- Workforce Solution: Get info on vocational rehab services for children with disabilities, 14 to 22.
- Cool Down Room: When things get too exciting, relax in the Celebrations Cool Down room.
