When the holiday season rolls around, it’s that time of the year again – the time for “100% Chance of Snow!”  Children’s Museum Houston invites you to unwrap the holiday magic, spread the joy and bring your family and friends to an exciting holiday experience which includes special events and real snow days!

  • Expect 100-percent chance of snow during real Snow Days, December 18 to 29.
  • Cruise down the most diverse neighborhood in town in “Seasons of Sharing” exhibit!

Intempo Dance Presents The Nutcracker

Battle the Mouse King and of course, dance through the land of the Sugarplum Fairy in Intempo Dance Ensemble’s inspired version of The Nutcracker.  Step into the reverie of little Clara in an unforgettable holiday tale and enter a magical wonderland of toy soldiers, a blizzard of snowflakes, and a kaleidoscope of imaginative dancers.

Hear ye!  Hear ye! Princesses and princes of the land of Bayous are cordially invited to gather for a royal event at the magical, extraordinary, castle-like edifice that is Children’s Museum Houston. Princesses Ariel, Belle, Cinderella, Jasmine, Moana and Tiana – six princesses! – will grace us with their presence and delightful voices for a sing-along event. Children's Museum Houston is snowed in!  Come out to play as the Allen Family Courtyard is transformed into a winter wonderland that has no end.  Expect 100-percent chance of real snow!

 

Sleigh All Day with Santa

December 24 - Open 10 am to 3 pm; Closed Christmas Day

The man in red invites you to Children’s Museum Houston before his big departure! Join the holiday countdown with Santa Claus before he embarks on his annual journey around the world! Make sure you’re on the right list and that he checks it twice before it’s too late!  P.S. Don’t forget your own wish list!

 

Rockin' New Year's Noon

December 31 - Open 10 am to 3 pm; Closed New Year's Day

Kids finally don’t have to stay up till midnight to celebrate the New Year!  Children’s Museum Houston’s Rockin’ New Year’s Noon is the city’s longest-running New Year’s Eve celebration just for kids! This end-of-year bash rings in the New Year at the stroke of noon with a parade and ball drop, just like in Times Square!  Musical talents will spotlight this New Year’s Eve celebration complete with noon countdown, TWO simultaneous ball drops and TWO DJ dance after party! 

 

Seasons of Sharing Exhibit Returns

Now thru January 8, 2022

Did you know Houston is one of the most diverse cities in the nation? Of course, you did!  Celebrate “diverse city” under one roof with “Seasons of Sharing,” Houston’s only multicultural holiday exhibit for children.  The exhibit will celebrate cultural holidays, practices and traditions from around the world; there couldn’t be a more appropriate celebration in town!   With more than 100 languages spoken throughout the Houston area, many cultures from around the globe call Houston home.

Ramadan, Diwali, Hanukkah, Las Posadas, Christmas in Norway, Kwanzaa and the Lunar New Year come together in Seasons of Sharing, where a block-long neighborhood of houses light the way through the holiday season.  Each house represents a holiday many households around the world observe.  Spot dipa lamps, menorahs, luminarias, kinaras, Christmas lights and the crescent moon dazzling in the most diverse neighborhood in town!  Step inside each home, get cozy and experience firsthand customs and traditions from other cultures.
