At almost any library, you can check out books. But at the Museum’s Parent Resource Library, children also receive free books to keep! In 2025, 1,700 books were given away in the Museum's library as part of Houston Pi Beta Phi Storytimes. Held three times every Thursday evening, each Storytime features songs, the reading of children's literature, and free books.
Many children are so excited to receive their own book that they ask their parents to read it to them right away. Families attend these Storytimes every week so that they can build their home libraries.
