Achoo! Alergies are off the charts, with KHOU even calling the recent weeks an "Oak Pollen Apocalypse." Instead of just fighting allergies, Museum educators embraced them as part of a unique event celebrating the updated BASF Power Science Lab.The Museum's ribbon-cutting ceremony vividly demonstrated why so many of us have been sneezing across the past month. Children added puffy “pollen” balls to slime, which were then “sneezed” out of a giant nose with the help of BASF representatives.

Jenna Marston, Communications Manager at BASF's Freeport location, provided opening remarks. She shared how her childhood experiences ignited her interest in future careers, and why the hands-on opportunities in the BASF Power Science Lab are important for children.

After the ribbon-cutting, children made glow-in-the-dark slime, one of many in-depth projects presented in the Lab.
