JULY 25: Jingle in July Party

Who says holiday magic belongs only in December? This snow-filled summertime spectacular flips the calendar upside down with frosty fun, giving-back activities, winter wonderland science, and enough festive cheer to make even Santa trade in his sleigh for sunscreen.

WHAT'S HAPPENING?

DJ Grinch: Join the Grinch for fun interactive games and festive music!

When: From 10 am to 3 pm in Kids' Hall Alcove

Giggles and Stories: Christmas in July: Enjoy a festive summer twist with holiday-themed stories, songs, and creative activities celebrating kindness, giving, and the magic of the season.

When: From 10 to 10:30 am in Gallery of Wonder

“Snowball” Fight: Jump into a playful “snowball” battle as you toss soft Velcro balls and try to get them to stick to your opponents’ vests in this high-energy winter-in-summer challenge.

When: From 10 am to 4 pm in Playscape

Letter Writing Activity: Spread holiday cheer in July by writing heartfelt letters and festive messages to share with others.

When: From 10 am to noon in Kaleidoscope

Snow Cones Truck: Cool down with delicious icy snow cones available for purchase outside the museum.

When: From 10 am to 2 pm in Front of the Museum

Snow Globe Workshops: Make whimsical animal-themed snow globes in this fun, hands-on workshop!

Limit 12 kids ages 4+, signs up open one hour prior to each workshop.

When: At the top of every half hour from 10:30 am to 3:30 pm in Chevron Maker Lab

Cindy Lou Who Storytimes: Celebrate Jingle in July with Cindy Lou Who as she shares the classic tale How the Grinch Stole Christmas!

When: At 11 am and 1 pm in the Parent Resource Library

Mini Drama – Penguin Pals: Participate in a playful, interactive story where families help two penguin friends solve a problem using movement, teamwork, and thoughtful discussion about kindness, fairness and listening to others.

When: At 11 am and 12 pm in Gallery of Wonder

No Sew Blanket Donations: Work together to create no-sew blankets to bring comfort to animals in need. Limit 12 participants ages 5+; sign ups open one hour prior to each workshop. Blankets will be donated to Friends for Life.

When: At the top of every hour from 1 to 3 pm in Kaleidoscope

ON-GOING ACTIVITIES

Fake Snow: Explore the science of sodium polyacrylate as you discover how it absorbs water to create realistic “snow,” learn about states of matter, and take some snowy science home with you!

When: All Day in Science Station

Faux Snow Machine: Enjoy a surprise sprinkle of artificial snow out in the playscape throughout the day!  

When: All Day in Playscape

Snowflake Wand: Harness some seasonal magic as you craft your own wintery wand!
